The Harpers Ferry KOA Activity Program is expanding every year. Enjoy free daily entertainment, regular weekly activities or get into the spirit of a themed special-event weekend.


Animal Ambassadors

Bring the kids along to learn about exotic animals such as lizards, chinchillas, snakes or parrots. Hosted weekly by local experts, you may even get to pet a few furry or scaly friends!

Browse through this historical building filled with Civil War and re-enactors memorabilia and staffed by David, our own Civil War buff. Observe the loading and lighting of the replica civil war cannon, then cover your ears quickly and experience the black powder sensation.

February 15-17[    Sweet Heart Valentines Dinner & Dance

Stay in one of our romantic cabins or Lodges and treat your sweetheart to dinner and Dancing with DJ Mary Jean, Right at the campground.  Continental Breakfast included.

 

March  21-23                                                               Easter

Join us for an Easter dance with DJ Mary Jean, egg hunt, craft activities, and weather permitting an early dip in our heated pool.

 

April 4-6                                                                  April Fools

We’re not fooling; there will be plenty of preseason fun for the whole family.  From Karaoke, to spring-themed crafts to a basketball shootout, this weekend will offer a sneak peek into a season of great camping.

 

May 2-4                         Crisp Spring Air for your enjoyment

Lets enjoy the weather all weekend long with poolside lounging, an Ice-cream social and a nature stroll thought the neighboring forest to view all the spring wildflowers.

 

May 9-11                                Come Camp & Care Weekend

Show mom how much she means and camp for a cause, all in one weekend. Stay and pay for Friday, Saturday is FREE. Special events and activities will Benefit KOA Cancer Care Camps. Join us to make special gifts for Mom throughout the weekend.

 

May 16-18                                      Memorial Day Early Bird

Three easy steps to fun: 1. Come early for Memorial Day. 2. Leave your camper setup all week for free. 3. Pay for the weekends.  Plus we’ll show free movies every two hours all weekend long in our 100 seat indoor theater.

 

May 23-25                                                        Memorial Day

Celebrate summer with live music and many planned activities. What better way to celebrate then by learning about John Brown and the Civil War at our own on-site museum. Nightly cannon rounds will complete the memorial spirit of the weekend.

 

June 6-8                                                        50’s Rock & Roll

Relive the fabulous 50’s with Karaoke and DJ Mary Jean, a live band and sock Hop

 

June 13-15  Harpers Ferry River Festival, Super Hero Dad

We have plenty of entertainment lined out for this wonderful weekend.  Come help us raise funds for a special cause as we host 4 bands, a dance and have extensive food venues.  It’s the perfect weekend to treat dad to fun! 

June 20-22                                               Summer Spectacular

Enjoy the first day of summer in an environment worthy of all season fun.  We’ll have music on Friday night and poolside ice cream social on Saturday, and then join the animal ambassador honoring the pets in your life.

 

June 27-29                              Cartoon (Dr. Seuss & Friends)

Take a hayride with cartoon characters and sing around our large community fire ring with friends.  Dress as your favorite character; come to the fire side sing-a-long.

 

July 4-6                                                       Independence Day

Celebrate our Nation’s birth with local fireworks and a festival atmosphere. Join in the site decorating contest for your chance to win and cool off poolside with red white & blue ice cream.

 

July 11-13                                                Death By Chocolate

Chocolate, Chocolate everywhere, for those who believe that chocolate should be held up as a celebration everyday.

 

July 18-20                                                     Christmas in July

Watch for Santa and his reindeer who’ll be out judging site decorations.  You’ll even see elves helping kids with crafts and receive a free gift from all of us here at KOA.

 

July 25-27                                                         Kids Get Even

This weekend’s penny carnival will benefit the KOA Care Kamps for kids with Cancer.  So bring your piggy bank and have a ball at our bean bag toss, Ring-on-the-bottle toss, sack races and pie-tossing event.

 

August 1-3                                                                     Pirates

Ahoy, Matey!  Enter the inflatable pirate ship race in our heated pool.  Blast your opponents during the super soaker battles and don’t forget your eye patch for the costume contest.  We’ll also have a site decoration contest and a dance on Saturday night.  Plus one lucky camper gets to fire our cannon.

 

August 8-10                                                 Prince & Princess

Dress up as your favorite prince or princess in KOA Kingdom.  Then join the rest of the campground royalty for movies, teatime with the Queen, and of course the Ball.

 

August 15-17                                                    Hawaiian Luau

Aloha! Come to our luau, complete with poolside party, Limbo and fun.

 

August 22-24                                          Camper Appreciation

Just to show you what you mean to us, we’re giving you 50% off your camping fees and hosting a store sale, ice cream party and more.

 

August 29-Sept 1                                                     Labor Day

Celebrate the end of summer with live band, pool party, movies and Civil War history.

 

September 5-7                                      Football Extravaganza

Watch collage football and cheer on your team amidst the beautiful countryside of West Virginia.  Tailgate from your camper or join us for burgers, dogs and fun.

 

September 12-14                       Forgotten Children’s Auction

Bring a donation to raise needed funds fro the forgotten Children’s Ministries.  We’ll have crafts, swimming and singing around the campfire, all for a good cause.

  

September 26-28                                                        Hot Rod

Bring your Hot Rod and get 20% off your stay.  Show it off in our car contest for a prize.  Then tear it up with Karaoke and our DJ Mary Jean, and a dance Saturday night.

 

 

October 10-12                              Kountry Western Hoedown

Enter the barbecue cooking contest.  Whoop it up at the barn dance and square dance expo for Kowboys and Kowgirls.

 

October 17-19 & 24-26                  Early Fun Fest Halloween

Come for the early Halloween haunted houses, trick or treating, Pumpkin painting and site decorating contest.

 

October 31 – Nov 2                                  Fun Fest Halloween

It’s here!  We’ll have two haunted houses- one foe adults and one for kids – trick or treating, monster mash, pumpkin carving and site decorating contest.
