Welcome to the premier campground for families to create their own adventure in historic Harpers Ferry in West Virginia! Located just an hour outside of Washington, D.C. where West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia meet, we are here to fulfill your expectations of a family camping adventure!
Whether you're eight, eighty or anywhere in between you're gonna love all the stuff we've got in store for you as we celebrate our 15th Anniversary! Our Themed weekends, fantastic planned activities and special events will keep you having fun and on the run all season long!
We are the perfect base camp for Washington DC sightseeing, touring major Civil War battlefields, or watching an exciting horse race in Charles Town. Or, spend your camping vacation enjoying the scenic wonders while biking the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal, hiking the Appalachian Trail or rafting on the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. The Harpers Ferry KOA is open year-round and offers the following accommodations:
- Water/Electric and Deluxe Full hookup RV Sites
- Tent sites and Delux Tent sites next to a Civil War trench (limit to 2 tents and/or 6 people)
- KOA 1 and 2 Room Kamping Kabins with a Front Porch Swings (sleeps up to 5 or 6 )
- Studio Lodges (sleep up to 4)
- Kamping Lodges (sleep up to 6)
- Bunkhouse that sleeps up to 20 people
Located just off WV Rt. 340, in a wooded setting near Harpers Ferry National Park, the Harpers Ferry KOA campground offers a variety of activities for the adventurous vacationer and Civil War enthusiasts.

Harpers Ferry KOA Campground Receives the 2010 Founder's Award & the 2010 President's Award!
The Harpers Ferry KOA Campground, operated by Recreational Adventures Co. and Managed by Dale Brechlin, has been recognized as being among the "best of the best" of the Kampgrounds of America system that includes more than 470 Campgrounds nationwide. This year we received both the 2010 Kampgrounds of America Founders Award and the President's Award at a special ceremony held at KOA's Annual International Convention in Savanna, Georgia.
"KOA Kampground Owners who receive these awards are truly operating the very best parks in the world," said KOA Chief Operating Officer Pat Hittmeier. "They take great pride in providing an excellent Camping experience for their guests, and we take great pride that they are a part of our KOA Family."
The KOA FOUNDER'S AWARD gives special recognition to a select group of President's Award recipients who receive the very best Kamper Satisfaction Survey scores in the KOA system. The Award is names for KOA founder, DAVE DRUM, who created the first KOA Kampground on the shores of the Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana in 1962. |

The KOA PRESIDENT'S AWARD is given annually KOA Kampgrounds that receive the highest customer service scores from their campers on the Kamper Satisfaction Survey. The Kamper Satisfaction Survey is sent to nearly 250,000 KOA campers each year and asks them specific questions about their stay at a particular KOA Kampground. Each Kampground must also pass an annual quality inspection, which also factors into qualifying for the President's Award. The Harpers Ferry KOA has been the proud recipient of the President's Award in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2010. |
